Speakers: Thursday and Friday mornings: L G Brooks will present the following topics: Engagement letters, Statute of Limitations, NOL’s, Audit Reconsideration’s, Jeopardy, Termination, Quick and Prompt Assessments, 2 hours Ethics, (L G Brooks is an Enrolled Agent and is the CEO and Senior Consultant of U.S. Tax & Consulting Group. He has been in the field of taxation for more than 20 years and has been in practice full-time since 1990. He. is a member of several tax-related organizations and his tax practice includes Tax Representation, Tax Consulting, Tax Preparation and Pre-Tax Court Litigation Support Services). LG. received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishop College at Dallas, Texas in 1977 and is a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI).
Thursday Afternoon, Bob Pope, Lawyer, will be presenting: Tax Issues in Bankruptcy and Discharge of Tax Obligatgions in Bankruptcy (There will be an open question and answer session)
Friday Afternoon, Scott Augenbaum with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI), will discuss the growing problems with cybercrime and using the internet. He will also be presenting information with regards to safeguarding client files and information. ( There will be an open question session as well.)

TNSEA and TN-NATP Joint ConferenceScheduled Date: Thursday September 25, 2008The Tennessee Society of NATP and The Tennessee Society of Enrolled Agents will be hosting their fall seminar September 25th and 26th 2008 at the Radisson Hotel Opryland.
Marilyn Meredith will be teaching Thursday on various 1040 topics including AMT, Installment Sales, Investment reporting, and will be offering two hours of Ethics.
Friday morning, Marilyn will be teaching on Foreclosures, Repossessions, Cancellation of Debt and Bankruptcy. There will be an open session called "ask Marilyn" so bring your tax questions to the seminar! Friday evening, the Internal Revenue Service will be discussing employees vs independent contractors. The State of Tennessee will be disussing the Hall Tax. For a complete schedule click here.
