Paris Landing
Submitted on Thursday March 15, 2007

Well, another successful conference is behind us! This year the conference was located in lovely Paris Landing State Park in Middle Tennesse. The first day featured Bop Pope (Criminal Attorney) and Nancy Wells (Retired IRS) in conjunction discussing criminal tax procedure and identifying the point and time in our practice when we may need to work with a criminal attorney. Bob emphasized the importance of knowing what to say and what not to say as well as what to do and not to do in a case that might end up in CID. Saying or doing the wrong thing can make you end up being an unwilling witness.

The second part of day one and most of day two, Bryan Gates discussed the "Fundementals of Tax Practice for Enrolled Agents" and "Examinations". Bryans sub topics for Tax Practice included The New IRS Dynamics, IRS Examination, IRS Collections, The IRS Appeals Process, and IRS Penalty Matters. He provided the class with several case studies as well.

Pat Paszek (IRS Collections) enlightened us on the new changes in the collections division of the Internal Revenue Service including OIC, and Installment Plans.

We will be working on next year in June!!! Hope to see you there!
